As a system integration (SI) company, our mission is to use the power of IT to solve problems faced by our clients and end users. However, in recent years, we are required to be able to not only solve problems, but also to quickly grasp the needs of the world, identify issues, and realize ideal visions and business models. In response to this trend of the times, we have launched “TDC Technology Beyond” in 2020. The purpose of this initiative is to foresee changes that may occur in the near future and to identify areas of technology that we will focus on, based on our research and analysis of market trends and advanced technologies that will have a significant impact on future social and economic activities.
Consideration of a wide range of factors with internal experts and management
The selection of focus areas in “TDC Technology Beyond” is not limited to areas related to existing businesses. Selection will not be made from a short-term perspective with an awareness of the relevance to the current TDC SOFT Group, but with a view to the future in three to five years’ time. Specifically, the top engineers, who are technical experts within the company, and the management team will discuss and carefully select focus technology areas that will contribute to the business. The selection of fields is not based solely on market trends, but is carefully linked to our mid-term business plan. Elements considered in the past have ranged from areas related to providing value to users, such as “customer experience value (CX),” “UI/UX,” and “design thinking,” to cutting-edge technologies such as “generative AI” and “blockchain,” and development methods such as “agile development.

Promote research and development to create new businesses for future value creation
The “R&D Promotion Office” is an activity with a longer-term perspective than “TDC Technology Beyond,” and is an abbreviation of “Research and Development. While “TDC Technology Beyond” is responsible for analyzing focused technological fields with a view to the future in 3 to 5 years, the “R&D Promotion Office” conducts research on technologies that could become our core business 10 years from now. Based on the results of this research, we promote research and development to create new businesses that will ultimately utilize elemental technologies to create future value.

Our continued investment in future-oriented technology, such as our “TDC Technology Beyond” and “R&D Promotion,” enables us to provide more sophisticated and higher quality services to our customers.
