Implementing SAFe® provides the broadest level of insight into each layer and role of SAFe® implementation. ■ Certification Examination
・The SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) certification exam is an online exam in Japanese (with English) (time frame available).
To be eligible to take the exam, you must attend all days of the course.

You can earn 30 PDUs (Ways/Working: 19.5, PowerSkills: 7.5, Business: 3) after taking the course.

Please confirm the following course procedures in advance.
■ About the Lecture
・ Provided by two SPCTs from Scaled Agile, Japan and the United States. Simultaneous Japanese interpretation will be provided during the English lecture.
This is a 5-day course. Please consider attending after adjusting your schedule.
■ About the course materials
・The course will be conducted with the new version 6.0 released in March 2023.
The course material is SAI’s original material (in Japanese).
The course workbook (in Japanese) will be provided in writable PDF format.
Tools to be used:
・This course will be conducted via Zoom.
Slack will be used as an external communication tool for the instructor and participants.
Exercises will be conducted using the course workbook or a virtual classroom in SAFe® Studio.
Some information will be shared using Google Drive, so please make sure you have access to Google Drive.
(You will need to register your full name in English for the display name of each tool.)
Please prepare a PC with a camera and a microphone.
Please use a wired connection with an optical fiber line. Mobile Wi-Fi routers, etc. are not recommended as they may cause communication breakdowns.
You can take the course on a single PC, but for a better experience, we recommend that you use a multi-display (two displays on one PC) or two PCs so that you can comfortably view the Zoom screen and other course materials.
About the pre-course briefing:
・A pre-course briefing will be held approximately one week prior to the course. In addition to an address by the instructor, the tools and materials to be used will be reviewed in advance, so all participants are required to attend. For those who are unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, a recording of the session will be shared at a later date.
■ Other
・Courses may be postponed or cancelled in case of natural disasters, sudden illness of the instructor, or if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
Cancellations made after the cancellation deadline will be charged the full amount of the cancellation fee.
After the course, a PDF invoice will be sent to the applicant.

As a change agent for global companies, Mr. Nakatani works with countries in Japan, the US and Asia to promote change on a global scale. He leads a series of SAFe implementation processes from coaching and consulting for management and internal members to SAFe® training for developing human resources for change. He was the first Japanese to receive the highest level of SAFe® trainer certification, SPCT. Currently, as a strategic advisor at Scaled Agile, Inc., he provides consulting services to clients and partner companies on SAFe implementation, conducts training to develop trainers, and is working hard to spread the Scaled Agile Framework® in Japan. Steve Adolph is a Strategic Steve is a Strategic Advisor with Scaled Agile, Inc. whose mission is to enrich people’s work lives through transforming the way they work.
After many years as an engineer involved in the development of cutting-edge technologies such as telephone switching systems and railroad signaling systems, he moved into management in the late 1990s. Since then, he has been involved in many corporate transformations based on the theme of “how work styles and organizational culture affect corporate results.” For about 15 years since around 2010, he has been helping a wide range of companies and organizations, regardless of industry, to transform their work styles by utilizing SAFe® (Scaled Agile Framework®). He has been working with a number of companies in the field of agile development and software engineering.
He has published numerous papers in the fields of agile development and software engineering, and has authored several books on analytical methods. His most recent book is The Rock Crusher.
He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and holds the SPCT certification, SAFe’s highest level of certification. He enjoys skiing, hiking, kayaking, and attending the opera.
