(TDC Soft) (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyoshi Kobayashi; hereafter referred to as “the Company”) has supported Kiramboshi Life Design Securities (hereafter referred to as “KLD Securities”), a subsidiary of Tokyo Kiramboshi Financial Group (hereafter referred to as “Kiramboshi FG”), in its IT infrastructure renewal project to a zero trust environment centered on “Cato SASE Cloud”. (“KLD Securities”), a subsidiary of Tokyo Kiramboshi Financial Group (“Kiramboshi FG”), by supporting an IT infrastructure renewal project for a zero-trust environment centered on Cato SASE Cloud. The project has resulted in enhanced security and improved convenience for sales staff, and the case study is now available on our official website.

This project was implemented with the objective of moving from a perimeter defense type security to a zero-trust environment, eliminating issues such as “unstable VPN connection” and “complicated password management” that the previous thin client system and VPN environment had. In anticipation of organizational expansion in line with the new group strategy, the IT infrastructure needed to be renewed within a limited period of time before the start of the new organization.

Tomokazu Nakamura, Senior Manager of the Digital Strategy Department of Kiramboshi FG, explained the deciding factor in selecting TDC Soft as a partner: “We were convinced that TDC Soft was the only company that could complete this project, which required speed. In addition to the past experience of working together to complete the construction of the UI bank infrastructure for the Kiriboshi Group in a short period of time, we highly evaluate TDC Software for its “solid technical capabilities” to meet the strict demands of the financial industry and its “ability to complete the project” without stopping the business.

Taking advantage of our strength as an independent SIer not bound to a specific product, we proposed a configuration that combined the Zero Trust product group centered on the Cato SASE Cloud with Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft Azure, etc., and implemented it in phases in stages. Through careful project management and communication, Phase 1 of the Zero Trust environment was built in a short period of time, approximately 3 months in fact.

In the new environment, biometric authentication, such as facial recognition and fingerprint recognition, has drastically reduced login problems, enabling secure access from outside the office and the use of smartphones for business purposes, dramatically improving the productivity and convenience of sales activities. At the same time, a multi-layered defense system ensures a high level of security to prevent information leakage even in the unlikely event that a PC is lost.

Looking to the future, we will utilize the know-how we have accumulated in this case study to build a financial grade zero-trust system, and expand this initiative horizontally within the Kiraboshi Group to help strengthen governance and improve the convenience of the entire Group, as well as to provide support not only to financial institutions but also to a wide range of companies that require strict security standards and business agility.
