Since our founding, we have consistently strived to grasp issues that our clients have yet to even consider, to question the “obvious,” and to rewrite the “obvious” with the power of IT, based on our purpose of “making the world a smarter place.

The TV commercial “Think about the essence” depicts a reliable senior employee, played by Yuki Sakurai, and a fresh junior employee, played by Ryuta Bando, who determine the essence of the customer’s issue and make the best proposal based on the key message “rewrite the ‘natural'”. The film reiterates the importance of not only the power of IT and technology, but also the “power to think about the essence” of human nature.

Comment by Yuki Sakurai

Through the production of this commercial, I learned about the attitude of TDC Soft’s employees in identifying the essence of issues and making optimal proposals, which deepened my understanding of SIers. As Mr. Bando’s senior, I play the role with an awareness of the image of a woman who is dependable yet soft. Through this role, I hope I was able to express the attitude toward women’s activities that TDC Soft is promoting.

Comment from Ryuta Bando

At first, I thought the word “SIer” sounded a little difficult, but through the commercial, I was able to learn about the thoughts and beliefs that TDC Soft values. As Ms. Sakurai’s junior, I tried to portray a fresh and energetic character, and I enjoyed the interaction with Ms. Sakurai as we filmed the commercial. I hope that this commercial will convey the appeal of TDC Soft to many people.

Director Keisuke Kuroyanagi's comments

In both the shooting and editing stages, I was most conscious of the “live” feel, such as the tempo of conversations and the breathing of the actors. Rather than adding dialogue and movement to each cut, I tried to make the most of the flow of the scene, as in a drama or stage play. The main character, played by Mr. Sakurai, has the strength to look at the “essence” and “future” a little deeper than other people, and through the coolness of the junior actor, played by Mr. Bando, who casually gives us a sense of this from his point of view, we were able to create the “human touch” that TDC Soft’s “human touch” is known for. I hope that the “humanistic professionalism” of TDC Soft is conveyed through the coolness of the junior staff member played by Mr. Bando. As the scene was exactly as we wanted it to be, Mr. Sakurai and Mr. Bando, who had only just started working together on the drama, were able to work well together, and we were able to create a “professional with a human touch” commercial that was cheerful from start to finish, but also had a strong sense of humor when it needed to be tightened. I think we were able to create a “human and professional” commercial.
