Introduced “Algorithm Internal Certification System” to visualize skills in score format.

~Promoting employees' ability to think logically

Information

In March 2024, TDC Soft, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “TDC Soft”) introduced its own “Algorithm In-House Certification System” for all employees below the rank of section manager (approximately 1,900 employees).

Background of Introduction of the System

Since FY2021, we have been promoting the improvement of logical thinking skills, one of the most important elements for IT engineers. All employees have been working on learning algorithmic problems, and we have accumulated learning data over the past three years.
In order to further improve the skills of each and every employee, we have established a new “Algorithm Internal Certification System” that utilizes the accumulated learning data.
Through the improvement of logical thinking skills, we will be able to provide even higher quality services to our customers.

Overview of the "Algorithm In-House Certification System

This is our original in-house certification system that expresses an individual’s algorithm level in a score format similar to TOEIC.
Employees work on algorithm questions as part of measures to improve their logical thinking skills, and are assigned a score in increments of one point based on the results of their answers. The scores are updated to the latest score every other month and notifications are provided so that each employee can objectively assess his/her skill level.

Effectiveness of the Program and Future Prospects

Logical thinking skills not only contribute to problem solving and business efficiency, but also play an important role in the development process. For example, in system development, the ability to think logically can be utilized in the requirements definition stage to accurately understand customer needs and clarify ambiguous requirements. Also, in the design and implementation stages, logical thinking skills are essential for writing code that is conscious of processing efficiency and readability. Therefore, the ability to think logically is an essential skill to provide higher quality services to our clients.

We will continue to promote learning and education through this program, as it allows each employee to engage in learning with a goal in mind and creates an opportunity for experts to train novice employees within the team.

In the future, the system will be linked to PROJECT IQ, an in-house system that implements an employee project performance evaluation function, to centrally manage individual skill levels. This will enable us to further improve the accuracy of performance evaluations and to propose skill-matching personnel, thereby realizing the provision of high-quality, high-value-added services to our clients.

We will continue to support the skill development of each of our employees and strive to provide the best possible service to our clients.
