Solutions Division

Acting Manager, Data Management Services Division

C.N

Profile

Joined the company in 2019. After graduating from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, he worked in sales in a different industry before moving to a system development company, where he worked for 15 years and was involved in management in the latter half of his career. Considering that he would like to continue working in the IT industry for a long time to come, he decided to join TDC Soft because he could make use of his past experience in development and management.

Acquire skills and form teams in the absence of experienced personnel

I am currently participating in a large project to visualize SAP ERP data for a semiconductor manufacturing equipment manufacturer. The project is led by a major SIer customer, and as TDC SOFT Inc., I am in charge of creating reports to be output in ledger sheets. This project is one of the largest in the Data Management Services Division, and I have been involved in it since its inception and am currently the manager of a team of over 15 members.
One of the features of this project is that we are developing add-ons using a proprietary solution from a major SIer, the customer, rather than using standard SAP functions. Since it was a proprietary solution, there were basically no experienced staff, and several of us, including myself, had to start by acquiring knowledge of the solution. Even after that, we were able to proceed with the project smoothly by assigning personnel, providing individual training, and establishing a system that functioned as a team, despite the lack of experienced staff. The customer appreciated how we flexibly responded and built a team despite the lack of experienced staff and high learning barriers.

Adapting to new technologies and tools with light footwork

I analyze myself as not having any outstanding technical skills. However, I am the type of person who is interested in and proactive about what is needed at the time and new technologies. As is the case with the unique solution we are using in our current project, new technologies and tools such as Snowflake and Tableau are appearing one after another in the field of data management, and I believe it is necessary for me to keep my footwork light without sticking to one thing. I believe that being able to adapt to new technologies and tools, such as Snowflake and Tableau, is a necessary quality for an engineer to continue to develop his or her career.
Although I do not have outstanding skills, I have a certain level of confidence in my management skills due to my previous work experience. In management, I keep in mind the importance of a mutually supportive environment. No one can do everything on their own, so having an environment where people can consult with each other on even the smallest matters strengthens the team. Especially in the current environment where most of the members work from home, I intentionally try to facilitate communication within the team by acting as a bridge between us.

A climate where people from all walks of life are accepted and can play an active role

Because TDC SOFT Inc. has a somewhat large scale of business and is involved in systems for a variety of industries, there is a climate that accepts people of various levels and layers of experience. By being able to place individuals in projects that match their skills and characteristics, it is an environment where it is easy for them to play an active role.
Another feature of TDC SOFT Inc. is that we put a lot of effort into training our employees. When I once accepted a new employee member for a project, the team members worked very hard to come up with a roadmap for his/her education, as well as his/her background. This was one of the most impressive aspects of my own career change, but TDC SOFT Inc. has an ingrained mindset of accepting new team members as colleagues.
As for my own career goals going forward, I dare not set them clearly. This goes along with what I said in my self-analysis, but I would like to respond to what the company and its divisions require of me. I believe that I will be able to demonstrate my value and expand my career as a result if I respond to technologies that are in growing demand or areas that the division is focusing on, rather than what I want to do. I would also like to contribute to the growth of the company and the division.
