Profile

He started his career as a system engineer and worked for a package vendor on a permanent basis until his last position. After changing jobs to advance his career to Project Manager, he joined TDC Soft in 2020 and was appointed Project Manager in 2022.

Seeking to step up to project manager

In my previous job as a systems engineer, I gained experience in the entire process from system requirements definition and design to development and testing. However, having worked with the same systems and tasks for many years, I felt that my skill development had plateaued, and I decided to change jobs to challenge myself in a new field. My future career vision included gaining experience in project management, but it was difficult to take on tasks beyond the scope of a systems engineer in my previous job, which was one of the reasons I decided to change jobs. What I was looking for in a new job was an environment where I could aim to become a project manager while working on tasks different from what I had done before. I wasn't particularly narrowing down my search to a specific industry.Besides system integrators (SIers), I also considered consulting firms as potential employers, but they didn't align with my desire to be involved in hands-on product development. I ultimately chose TDC Soft because they were recruiting project manager candidates and their wide range of business activities gave me a sense of the breadth of work they offered. Furthermore, the company's emphasis on promoting project management-related certifications aligned with my desire to step up from a systems engineer to a project manager.

Drive the transformation of the company's core business, the Credit Division

After joining the company, I was assigned to the credit division, and currently, as a project manager, I am in charge of developing QR payment systems for credit card companies. As a so-called playing manager, I have opportunities to get my hands dirty, but my main mission is to manage the progress and quality of each stage of the process. This division is one of TDC Soft's core businesses, and it has the wealth of knowledge and technology that we have cultivated over the years, as well as the strong trust of our customers. There are various operations within credit card companies, and we cannot be entrusted with important systems without understanding those operations. The fact that customers continue to consult with us for many years is proof of the trust they have placed in us.
Another important role expected of me is the development of open systems engineers and the next generation of leaders. My important mission is to focus not only on mainframe projects but also on open systems projects, and to lead departmental policies from the ground up. We are also actively engaged in reskilling for mainframe engineers, and I myself am involved in talent development as a driving force in the working group.

Career possibilities greatly expanded with TDC software

I joined TDC Soft with the goal of becoming a project manager, and although there is still much to learn, I am basically progressing in the direction I envisioned. I have already obtained project management certifications and am currently studying for AWS certifications, and with my career path opening up, I am able to work with higher motivation than in my previous job. Furthermore, being entrusted with talent development and organizational management has given me the feeling that my career has expanded more than I had imagined. It was also a new discovery that I enjoy "talent development" more than I thought I did.
The department I belong to is a field with the potential for further growth amidst the diversification of payment methods in the world. In the future, there will likely be opportunities to challenge ourselves in uncharted territory. Furthermore, TDC Soft as a whole is actively undertaking new initiatives toward becoming a "next-generation system integrator." In the future, I hope to be appointed as a pioneer in new challenges, and I will continue to challenge myself in my current work without being bound by existing frameworks.
