Profile

Joined the company in 2017 as a new graduate. Graduated from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science. Interested in programming, he focused his job search on the IT industry. Although he was interested in programming, he was still a beginner in programming, so he sought a company with a good training environment and joined TDC SOFT.

Evolve existing projects with advanced technology

From the time I joined the company to the present, I have been involved in projects for the same customer in the financial industry. After joining the company, I participated in web-based development work, including on-the-job training, and was responsible for programming and design as an engineer. Later, as my years progressed, I took on a leadership role and gradually increased the number of people on my team. In my fourth year with the company, I was also entrusted with management duties at the same time.
Although the Digital Technology Division specializes in cutting-edge technologies, the current projects have been ongoing since before the division was established, and there are some legacy technical aspects. Conversely, there is plenty of room to incorporate new technologies such as cloud computing and agile. In fact, we have been given relatively free reign by our clients on how to proceed and how to create the final deliverables. We also participate as engineers in upstream discussions about what functions are needed for our financial institution clients, and we are able to express our opinions. It is also our mission to evolve projects and services using new technologies and methods.

Internal deployment activities in the areas of agile and containers

The Digital Technology Division has eight technology areas of focus, and each member of the division selects a technology area that best suits his or her work and interests, as well as his or her own projects, and works to deploy it within the company. The two technology areas I am in charge of are Agile and Containers. I decided on my own that it would be better to work on both together, mainly because I am in the Agile department to begin with, but also because I have a personal interest in containers, which is a technical area closely related to Agile development.
As for specific activities, first of all, regarding Agile, I have acquired the certification of Scrum Master, and I am disseminating information about it within the company. I believe that it is impossible to disseminate useful information about Agile without practicing it, so I have written articles in internal media about my experiences incorporating Agile elements in the projects I led. I also wrote an introductory article on containers for people who want to learn more about containers, such as “What containers are in the first place,” which received many “likes” and comments. My own understanding of Agile and containers has deepened through such information dissemination.

A career path called “T-type human resources” is also possible.

I had originally thought that a typical career path in the IT industry would be to first experience programming and then move up to management. However, I am now involved in both technology and management, and I find both rewarding. Personally, I am attracted to “T-type personnel” who have expertise but also broaden their knowledge in a wide range of fields, and I expect that such a career can be realized at TDC SOFT.
Another characteristic of the Digital Technology Division's human resources is that many of them are interested in a variety of things. Rather than just “liking technology alone,” I imagine that one of their wide-ranging interests is technology. That is why many of us have a strong commitment to fields and hobbies outside of work. I myself have been playing music since before I joined the company, and strangely enough, many of the people around me used to play music as well. I feel that this is an organization with a fascinating culture, where you can have conversations that stimulate your intellectual curiosity, not limited to technology.
