Profile

Joined the company in 2020. He studied history at university and became interested in the IT industry through a friend in a club. At his previous job as a SIer, he was involved in network construction and server operation, but had few opportunities to be involved in processes upstream from design. He decided to change jobs because he wanted to experience processes beyond design by the age of 30. He decided to join TDC Soft because of its high prime ratio, long history, and good impression at the interview.

Aiming to improve my skills as an infrastructure engineer.

In my previous job, I had been exposed to networks and servers as an infrastructure engineer and had no practical experience with cloud computing. When I was looking for a new job, I assumed that I would be able to utilize my skills in the on-premise area, but I was naturally aware of the growing need for cloud computing, so I taught myself about cloud computing as well. However, I was not so much fixated on “on-premise or cloud,” and honestly, I was looking for a step up from my previous work environment. This was a deciding factor.
After joining the company, I was assigned to the Distribution Division as the first infrastructure engineer, and was assigned to a project to build a new system in a cloud environment for a distribution-related customer. However, when I first joined the project, TDC SOFT Inc. was not in charge of the infrastructure area, and I started with development work using Python prior to the system migration. Although I did not have a wealth of development experience, I had opportunities to use Python in network and server-related work, and I feel that my level of experience was moderate. I was able to deepen my understanding of the customer's business and systems while developing.

Worked on cloud migration and expanded projects

After the development project, I was assigned to work with a customer employee specialist on the main project, the migration to the cloud. I had little practical experience in cloud computing, but I was able to build a relationship of trust with the customer while promoting the project by making proposals for the system based on my recent development work. At the same time, I was able to deepen my own knowledge of the cloud and acquire new strengths in the cloud.
At first, I was the only one involved in the project, but as the scale of the project gradually expanded, I was given the position of project leader, and in addition to upstream tasks such as reviewing design details, I also manage seven members who perform operational support tasks. The current system is based on a combination of Microsoft Azure, private cloud, and on-premise environments, so there is a lot to learn. In addition, there are many opportunities to coordinate with customers and the company when working with the current system, and I find it rewarding to be able to work while communicating directly with customers.

Cloud, management and career advancement.

I think the appeal of TDC SOFT Inc. is the environment in which you can improve your skills. As was the case with myself, even those who have been involved in infrastructure operations can take on the challenge of cloud computing. In addition to cloud computing, you can gradually move up from simple tasks according to your level. Furthermore, if the individual wishes, the company will pay for outside training, and web-based training can be taken during work hours. I have the impression that there are ample opportunities for skill improvement and learning.
In the future, I would like to gain more experience in the cloud, not just Azure, but on the other hand, I continue to be interested in private and on-premise, and would like to hone my skills without limiting myself to one or the other. On the other hand, I would like to continue to develop my skills in private and on-premise environments, and I would like to hone my skills without limiting myself to one or the other.
On the other hand, I am also grateful for the opportunity to experience management in terms of my career, and I would like to improve my skills in both technology and management. In a good way, I feel that my image before joining the company has been betrayed, and that I have been able to achieve career advancement beyond what I had imagined.
